I have to be the scholar in this paper, all the ideas must be mine. I'm writing from 8 sources and I'm writing 8-10 pgs. It cant contain more than 1 pg of history. I have to tie in reggaeton to pop culture some how. I cant just say its part of pop culture b/c it's good and people like it. I don't know how to successfully write a pop culture paper of this sort. Can someone help give me guidelines I could follow?

well you can write about all the controversy where reggaeton started (panama vs puerto rico). do some research and you will find that first reggaeton was banned and all this bull.. it was underground, then around the late 90s early 2000 producers realized to get money they need to "mainstream" it.. thanks to that (sarcasm) we have beautiful songs like "me estas tentando" (sarcasm) it changed a lot over the years, compare the 80-90s reggaeton to nowdays mainstream reggaton.. i mean you can find a lot of info on your own about the history
in puerto rico its become a major part of teenagers life. those kids be mimicking their idols to the socks. its kind of pathetic. then look at the stats.. kids who listen to reggaeton are most likely to be involved in some sort of violence. i mean i love the music, but kids are just stupid sometimes.
do the history of it first, then start transitioning into the pop culture part.
